Privacy Policy

Overview
Marketplace Flipper is a Chrome browser extension that monitors Facebook Marketplace for new listings. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses, what it stores, and what it does not do.
Short version: Marketplace Flipper collects no personal data, sends nothing to any server, and stores only your own preferences locally in your browser. That's it.
Data We Collect
None. Marketplace Flipper does not collect, record, transmit, or share any personal data whatsoever.
The extension does not access your Facebook account information, profile, messages, friends list, or any personal details. It only reads the public listing feed visible on Marketplace category and search pages.
Local Storage
The extension saves the following information locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API:
— Which Marketplace categories you have enabled
— Your custom search terms
— Whether the extension is turned on or off
— Whether audio alerts are enabled
— IDs of listings already seen, to avoid re-alerting
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded, synced, or accessible to anyone other than you.
Permissions Used
storage — to save your preferences locally in the browser.
tabs — to navigate the active tab when toggling the extension on or off, and to open the options page on first install.
contextMenus — to add a single right-click menu item on the extension icon that opens the options page.
host permission (facebook.com/marketplace/*) — to inject the monitoring interface into Facebook Marketplace pages so new listings can be detected and displayed.
Third Party Services
The extension's options page loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) for display purposes only. No user data is included in this request. This is a standard web font request identical to loading any font on any website.
No other third-party services, analytics, tracking scripts, or advertising services are used.
Data Sharing
We do not share any data with any third party because we do not collect any data in the first place.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in a future version of the extension, the updated date at the top of this page will reflect that. We will never introduce data collection without updating this policy first.
